Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef Manager to lead the catering operation at a prestigious site in the heart of Oxford.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a busy kitchen, delivering high-quality food and service for up to 200 covers per day. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day kitchen operation, including menu planning, stock ordering, food preparation, and team management, while ensuring exceptional standards are always maintained.
Working closely with the Catering Manager, you will help drive a first-class dining experience for customers and guests. The role is predominantly kitchen-focused but also requires the flexibility to support front-of-house restaurant and hospitality operations, including management and supervision in the Catering Manager's absence.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the daily operation of a busy catering service
Plan and develop seasonal, nutritious, and appealing menus
Order and manage food supplies and kitchen stock
Prepare and cook meals to a consistently high standard
Lead, motivate, and develop the catering team
Ensure compliance with food safety, health and hygiene regulations
Work closely with the Catering Manager to deliver excellent customer service
Support restaurant and hospitality functions when required
Assume responsibility for front-of-house operations in the Catering Manager's absence
About You
Previous experience in a Chef Manager or senior chef position
Strong leadership and team management skills
Experience within a busy Business & Industry (B&I) catering environment is highly desirable
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Passion for delivering high-quality food and service
Sound knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance standards
