Job Overview
Bar staff and general help with cooking school are required. Join a small team running the bar and helping with our fun pasta-making classes at the rear on weekends. Federico and his team will provide training. However, we prefer someone responsible with bar experience, as the right person will predominantly work at the front on weekends. Guaranteed 22 hours a week and an opportunity to earn more during the week. We are looking for either one person or two people to cover Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We currently have one person covering the following shifts, but we would consider applicants who can cover a few. Fridays and Saturdays are the most important. Fridays from 3 pm to 11.30 pm - Saturdays from 12 pm to 11.30 pm - Sundays from 11.30 am to 8.30 pm.
Duties
- Prepare and serve beverages at the bar, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and responsible alcohol service protocols
- Take customer orders accurately, process payments efficiently, and maintain a clean and organized bar area
- Assist with setting up and tidying classroom spaces before and after sessions, providing general support to instructors and attendees
- Manage inventory levels of bar supplies and classroom materials, notifying management of stock needs
- Engage with customers in a friendly, energetic manner to create an inviting atmosphere that encourages repeat visits
- Support event logistics by helping with setup, breakdown, and ensuring safety procedures are followed during classes or social gatherings
- Maintain cleanliness of all service areas, adhere to health regulations, and promote a safe environment for staff and patrons
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
- Knowledge of food safety practices and responsible alcohol service is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers, colleagues, and instructors
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Excellent time management abilities to juggle multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to serving beverages and setting up classrooms
- A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends
