About the Role
Due to continued growth, CambridgeHOK Refrigeration is looking for an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to join our expanding team.
This is a field-based role covering Manchester & the North West with occasional travel to support projects in other regions. You will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, commissioning, and fault-finding of industrial refrigeration systems across a variety of sectors, including food processing and agriculture.
Working both independently and alongside our experienced engineering teams, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers receive a high-quality, professional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on industrial refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults.
- Commission new refrigeration installations.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and control diagrams.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with industry regulations.
- Maintain excellent customer relationships while representing CambridgeHOK Refrigeration on-site.
- Complete service documentation accurately and professionally.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong experience working with industrial refrigeration systems.
- Sound knowledge of compressors, evaporators, condensers and control systems.
- Experience working with ammonia, CO₂ and HFC refrigerants.
- Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
- The ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Experience commissioning industrial refrigeration equipment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Essential Qualifications
- Completed apprenticeship or recognised training course in Refrigeration.
- C&G 2079 Refrigerant Handling qualification (or equivalent).
- Relevant industrial refrigeration certifications, e.g. ACRIB Ammonia Refrigeration Certification.
- Full UK driving licence.
