We are seeking a Retail Assistant to work on a Saturday and a Sunday who can deliver exceptional customer service and support the day-to-day operations of farm shop in Bungay. This role includes the presentation and sale of fresh, locally produced goods, as well as responsibility for effective stock handling and participation in regular stock takes. The Retail Assistant will help create a welcoming environment for customers, maintain product displays, and ensure the shop runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful service to all customers
- Operate the till system and handle cash, card, and other transactions accurately
- Restock shelves and ensure displays are well-presented and attractively merchandised
- Receive, check, and organise deliveries of farm produce and other stock
- Monitor stock levels, rotate products appropriately, and minimise waste
- Assist with regular stock takes and maintain accurate stock records
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the shop
- Comply with health and safety, food safety, and hygiene regulations at all times
- Represent the farm’s values of sustainability, quality, and local sourcing
