Our client, a reputable hotel group with a strong presence in the Central Belt, is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Operations Manager to oversee their collection of hotels in and around Glasgow.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced General Manager to step into a strategic leadership role. In this critical position, the successful candidate will act as the bridge between group strategy and on-the-ground execution. They will be responsible for empowering, mentoring, and challenging a team of General Managers to ensure operational excellence, consistent brand standards, and exceptional financial performance across the region.

- Basic Salary: Up to £50,000 (dependent on experience).

Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of General Managers, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
- Commercial Performance: Take full ownership of the P&L for the region. Drive revenue through Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Events while effectively managing wage and operational costs to maximise Gross Operating Profit (GOP).
- Standards & Compliance: Conduct regular property visits to audit brand standards, health & safety compliance, and guest service quality. Ensure all hotels are "inspection ready" at all times.
- Guest Experience: Champion a guest-centric culture. Monitor review platforms (TripAdvisor, Google, etc.) and support General Managers in resolving escalated issues to maintain an excellent reputation.
- Strategy & Growth: Work closely with senior leadership to implement group-wide initiatives and identify opportunities for revenue growth or refurbishment within the region.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience: Proven experience as a General Manager within a reputable hotel group (4-star, boutique, or branded essential). Experience as a multi-site operator or Cluster General Manager is highly advantageous.
- Commercial: Strong working knowledge of profit and loss accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management.
- Skills: A hands-on leader who is confident in holding teams accountable. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, a confident communicator, and resilient under pressure.
- Location: Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel across the Glasgow and Central Belt region.
