We are a local transport operator hiring a full-time Transport Planner to coordinate our fleet of 8-wheel tipper vehicles.In this role, you will take ownership of the day-to-day route planning and driver allocation, ensuring our operations run safely and efficiently across construction and aggregate sites.What you will do daily:
- Plan and route a dedicated fleet of 8-wheel tippers.
- Schedule collections and deliveries from quarries and construction sites.
- Allocate jobs to drivers and plan cost-effective routes.
- Handle real-time updates, including delays, breakdowns, and traffic.
- Coordinate directly with drivers, site managers, and customers.
- Monitor tachograph records, EU/UK drivers' hours, and Working Time Regulations.
- Keep track of vehicle compliance, including MOTs and regular safety inspections.
- Maintain accurate transport records in our system.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience planning 8-wheel tippers within the aggregates, quarrying, or muck-away sectors.
- Solid working knowledge of transport compliance, vehicle maintenance schedules, and tachograph rules.
- Strong communication skills to manage driver schedules and customer expectations.
- Good geographic knowledge of the local area and routing networks.
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
