Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Car Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for vehicle maintenance and repair. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring safety and optimal performance. A comprehensive understanding of automotive systems and the ability to work with various tools and equipment are essential.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and electronic faults.
- Carry out engine repairs, including timing chain and timing belt replacements.
- Diagnose and repair DPF, AdBlue, and emissions-related issues.
- Use dealer-level diagnostic equipment for programming and coding.
- Conduct hybrid and electric vehicle diagnostics and repairs.
- Service and maintain fleet and light commercial vehicles.
- Complete comprehensive vehicle health checks.
- Help maintain high workshop quality standards and technical excellence.
- Support and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
Skills
- Engine rebuilds and complex mechanical repairs
- Confident with timing chains and emission systems
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent qualification).
- Demonstrated experience in vehicle diagnostics and fault finding.
- Strong electrical and mechanical expertise.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Positive attitude with a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- IMI Diagnostic Technician qualification.
- EV and Hybrid vehicle certification.
- Manufacturer-specific training.
- Experience working with light commercial vehicles.
- Vehicle programming and coding experience.
