Step Into Teaching is working with a friendly and supportive primary school in Derby to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team this September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience, develop your confidence and learn from experienced teachers while making a genuine difference to children's education.
What Will You Be Doing?
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support children across the school and help create a positive environment where pupils can learn, grow and thrive.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting teachers during lessons.
- Working one-to-one and with small groups of pupils.
- Helping children with their reading, writing and numeracy.
- Supporting pupils who require additional academic or behavioural support.
- Working with children with SEND and additional needs.
- Encouraging pupils to participate and stay engaged.
- Helping children develop confidence and independence.
- Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines.
- Preparing learning resources and classroom activities.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and staff.

All degree subjects are welcome.
Degrees in Psychology, Education, English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Sports, Humanities and Social Sciences are particularly relevant.
Previous experience with children is desirable but not essential. Experience through tutoring, childcare, mentoring, coaching, volunteering or youth work is all valuable.
