Looking for something different?
Are you a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef or experienced Chef looking for a role with genuine work-life balance, sensible hours and the opportunity to help build something from day one?
YR Golf is a brand-new premium lounge bar opening in the heart of Sidmouth, bringing together exceptional coffee, quality food, cocktails and world-class golf simulators.
We're creating somewhere people genuinely enjoy spending time—and we're looking for the right person to lead our kitchen.
This is a different kind of kitchen.
We've deliberately designed our menu to be focused, simple and consistently high quality.
That means less stress, less complexity and more time spent maintaining standards, developing the team and helping create a brilliant guest experience.
If you're passionate about hospitality but fed up with the long hours and pressure of traditional kitchens, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
The Role
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of our kitchen, ensuring every dish leaves to the same high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the kitchen day to day.
- Food preparation and service.
- Stock ordering and rotation.
- Food safety and hygiene.
- Maintaining excellent organisation and cleanliness.
- Working closely with the front of house team to deliver a seamless guest experience.
At YR, we don't believe in "that's not my job."
Everyone helps everyone.
You'll occasionally support front of house, just as they'll support you when needed.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Takes genuine pride in their work.
- Is calm, organised and dependable.
- Leads by example.
- Enjoys being part of a close-knit team.
- Wants to help build something special from the very beginning.
- Understands that great hospitality starts in the kitchen.
Kitchen management experience is an advantage, but we're equally interested in ambitious Sous Chefs or experienced Chefs who are ready to take the next step.
Attitude, care and a willingness to learn will always outweigh ego.
What We Offer
- Salary of £26,000–£28,000 depending on experience.
- Most weeks working around 42–45 hours, with a maximum contracted week of 48 hours.
- A genuine work-life balance.
- Formal salary and development reviews every six months.
- Performance bonuses that reward great work.
- A genuine career pathway as YR continues to grow.
- Staff discount.
- Full training and ongoing development.
- The opportunity to help shape a brand-new hospitality business before we even open our doors.
We're not looking for perfection.
We're looking for someone who cares about quality, enjoys working with good people and wants to build a kitchen that both the team and our guests can be proud of.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,500.00 per year
