Overview:
PURPOSE & IMPACT: Working in the Group Financial Reporting Team, this is a key role involving the production of Group external financial reporting. In doing so, financial control compliance must be maintained, whilst striving for process and procedure improvement. Supporting the production of timely and relevant financial reporting to key stakeholders, including the Board & Senior Management.
The candidate should possess excellent skills in spreadsheet, word processing, and finance software, with strong knowledge of International Accounting Standards. They bring solid experience in financial reporting with experience in the preparation and/or the audit of IFRS financial statements. Additionally, they have proven expertise in people management, project management, process development, and implementation. Holding a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, and/or a relevant professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
Responsibilities:
- This role sits in the Group Financial Reporting Team, reporting to the Head of Group Financial Reporting, which is responsible for the production of monthly reporting deliverables for several headquarter entities, UK statutory accounts for those entities, as well as the consolidated quarterly Group Financial Statements under IFRS. The team is in the process of replacing its existing SAP BPC consolidation tool with S/4 HANA’s Group Consolidation tool with go-live expected in January 2027. At the same time, the Group is transitioning to IFRS 18, taking effect January 1, 2027

Woking with the Consolidation Manager and other peers, this position will support the consolidation of the Group’s external financial reporting through overseeing key areas of technical accounting and managing the accounting policy manual

Responsibilities in this role will change over time as the team and Company navigates change. Initially, it is expected that this role will primarily manage the adoption of IFRS 18 of the Group Financial Statements, a project that is already under way Specific responsibilities include:

Working with internal stakeholders to gather data, prepare restated information, agree areas of judgment, drive changes to reporting systems and manage the change process.

Preparation of impact disclosures in the 2026 financial statements

Preparation of restated 2026 quarterly results

Adoption/ transitionary disclosures from Q1 2027

Ensuring information is prepared and reviewed in accordance with the controls framework
-
Managing the audit process for IFRS 18 with our auditors
-
Ensuring system changes are made, through working with the S/4 HANA Group Consolidation development team

In addition, the role will be accountable for the completeness of the Group’s disclosures, managing the accounting policy manual, as well as other tasks to support the team’s reporting requirements

Once the IFRS 18 project is complete, the responsibilities are expected to transfer to other technical areas within the team, which is expected to include accounting of the Company’s Long-term incentive plans (LTIPS), oversight of hedge accounting activities, directors remuneration disclosures, supporting corporate finance activities, supporting cross-functional projects and being the team liaison with internal and external auditors

Such responsibilities may include; provisions, exceptional items, cash flow reporting, statutory reporting for head office entities (FRS 101) and ONS reporting
In addition, the following is expected:

Preparation of technical memorandums for senior management and the Audit Committee will be necessary

Supporting members of the shared finance centre, tax and treasury teams

Completion of financial controls in accordance with the controls framework as required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)

Assistance with electronic tagging of quarterly and annual financial statements in WDESK (Workiva platform)

Liaising with internal and external auditors
Qualifications:
- Graduate

Audit experience

Qualified or experienced financial accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)

3+ years PQE experience
