We are a Family Residential Assessment Centre in the Chorley area and are looking for an experienced and strong Manager to oversee the daily running of the Service as per standards and registration requirements. You will support the leadership team in the everyday success of the Service.
Our 5 bedroom Centre provides around the clock support and assessment to parents and their children for each placement period of 12-14 weeks. We will deliver in-house support to enable parents and their children the opportunity to remain together, whilst they learn and are assessed on how to keep themselves and their children safe. Parents may have a range of needs such as mental health, substance use, be or have been victim to domestic abuse/grooming or exploitation, perpetrate domestic abuse, have learning needs, a history of previous social care involvement and so on.
The role of the Registered Manager will include but is not limited to;
-The effective and successful running of the overall Service on a full-time, long-term and day-to-day basis.
- Upholding the Statement of Purpose, Minimum Standards and Family Residential Centre Standards.
-Meeting Ofsted and Inspection requirements as set out specifically in the SCIFF.
-Delivering high quality and evidence based support plans and up to 5 parenting capacity assessments over a 12-14 week period.
-Assisting the Deputy Manager and Practitioner Team with the running and success of the Service (full support and shadowing will be offered, with ongoing development and supervision opportunity)
-Develop the Service on a positive scale ahead of the next Inspection, supporting the achievement of an improvement in rating.
-Taking on leadership responsibilities (inc leading the team and being on-call)
-Meeting professional standards
-Upholding and promoting the Minimum Standards for RFC's.
-Overseeing and supporting the allocated Social Worker to families placed with us.
-Overseeing weekly summaries and recording evidence, midpoint and final assessments.
-Adhering to Court direction and timetabling.
-Providing specialist support with parenting
-Safeguarding vulnerable children and their parents
-Supporting the placement
-Reducing risk in all aspects of daily life, inside and outside of the Centre to children and their parents. Through both practice and the completion of risk assessments.
-Attending meetings with wider agencies
-Making referrals to wider agencies
-Use a variety of direct and distanced observations to inform, assess and support.
-Supporting parents and their children in-house and to access the community
-Providing community outreach and after care
-Encouraging positive long-term family outcomes
The Manager must have;
- BA Hons or MA in Social Work
- Minimum 3-5 years post qualifying Social Work experience
- Be registered with Social Work England
- L5 Leadership and Management, or be willing to complete
- Be experienced and competent in writing/being involved in Court Proceedings/giving evidence
-Be competent with assessment styles such as the National Framework as a minimum, PAMS and Parent Assess is preferred however training can be provided
- Experienced with cases in Child Protection, Pre-proceedings and Court
- 2 sources of good reference (one current) and a thorough / proven explanation of any gaps in employment.
- Be able to provide evidence of dissertation/assessment writing
- Have a clear DBS
- Have a clean driving license
- Be willing to undertake mandatory and assessment style training
-Be willing to complete a 6 month probationary period, reviewable at the midway and final point.
