The Department
The Finance Team at Uxbridge High School plays a key role in supporting the school’s strategic priorities by ensuring effective financial management and accountability. The team is responsible for overseeing the school’s budget, monitoring income and expenditure, and ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to support high-quality teaching and learning.
The Position
Uxbridge High School is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. This is a senior technical finance role and presents an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified accountant to play a key part in delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial management across the school.
The successful candidate will join a hardworking and committed team that has made significant progress in strengthening financial operations, improving processes and embedding a culture of best value. We are now looking for a technically strong finance professional who can build on these foundations, bring rigour and accuracy to financial reporting, and support continuous improvement across our finance systems, controls and processes.
As Senior Management Accountant, you will lead on management accounts, budget monitoring, forecasting, reconciliations, cashflow reporting, payroll review and financial controls. You will provide clear financial commentary and advice to the Director of Finance & Operations, senior leaders, trustees and budget holders, ensuring that financial information supports effective decision-making.
We are seeking a fully qualified accountant with a recognised professional accountancy body at chartered or chartered-equivalent level, such as ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS or equivalent. You will need strong management accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, advanced Excel skills, sound judgement and the ability to work calmly and professionally in a busy school environment. You must be confident managing competing priorities, working to deadlines, challenging inconsistencies appropriately, and explaining financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
