Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of grilled dishes according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grill station, adhering to food safety regulations
- Assist in meal preparation, including marinating, seasoning, and portioning ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service during busy periods
- Keep the work area clean, sanitised, and organised throughout shifts
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, particularly on a grill or barbecue station
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and quality control
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of culinary techniques related to grilling and meat preparation is advantageous
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
