Help us bring Casa Brío to life.
Casa Brío is a brand-new independent hospitality concept coming to Penwortham, inspired by the warmth, energy and relaxed way of life we love about Spain.
We want to create somewhere that feels like you've stepped into a little corner of the Mediterranean, somewhere to enjoy great coffee and brunch in the morning, lunch with friends, and good food, drinks and sharing plates as the day rolls into evening.
We're now looking for a Head Chef to help us make the food just as exciting as the place we're creating.
This isn't just another Head Chef role. Casa Brío is being built from the ground up, and you'll be joining us at a really exciting stage.
We've already developed the concept, vision and an initial menu direction, but we're not chefs, and that's where you come in.
We're looking for someone with the experience and creativity to challenge our ideas, tell us what will work, improve what won't, and help us create a menu that is exciting for our customers and commercially smart for the business.
You'll have a genuine voice in shaping the food offering and the way the kitchen operates from day one.
What you'll be doing:
- Working closely with the owners to refine and develop the menu.
- Bringing your own ideas, experience and creativity to the food offering.
- Advising on dishes, preparation and service to make sure the menu works brilliantly in a real kitchen.
- Costing dishes and helping us achieve strong margins without compromising quality.
- Developing recipes, prep systems and kitchen procedures.
- Helping select suppliers and establish ordering and stock control systems.
- Help recruit, train and lead the kitchen team.
- Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and cleanliness.
- Taking ownership of the kitchen and leading the team through launch and beyond.
The kind of chef we're looking for
You might already be a Head Chef looking for the chance to build something of your own, or an experienced Sous Chef who's ready to take that next step.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is genuinely passionate about food and hospitality.
- Loves fresh, quality ingredients and simple food done really well.
- Has a good understanding of Spanish, Mediterranean or European food and culture (although this isn't essential).
- Understands that a great menu needs to be both creative and commercially viable.
- Is organised, calm and confident leading a team.
- Enjoys developing dishes and isn't afraid to challenge ideas.
- Takes pride in creating a kitchen that is well organised, efficient and enjoyable to work in.
- Wants to be part of building something from the beginning, rather than stepping into something already established.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for what we're creating.
Why Casa Brío?
This is an opportunity to join an independent business at the very beginning of its journey.
You'll have genuine creative input, work directly with the owners and have the opportunity to build the kitchen, menu and team around you.
We're not looking for someone to simply follow a menu we've handed them.
We want someone to help make it better.
You'll have the opportunity to put your own stamp on the food offering, help shape the culture of the kitchen and play a key role in establishing Casa Brío as somewhere people want to come back to time and time again.
What we're offering
- £16.00–£18.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- The opportunity to join Casa Brío before we open and help shape it from day one.
- Genuine input into the menu and overall food offering.
- The opportunity to build and lead your own kitchen team.
- Direct involvement with the owners.
- A creative, collaborative working environment.
- The chance to grow with a brand-new independent business.
