We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join our team in Oxfordshire. The post-holder will provide professional building surveying services across a varied portfolio, including building surveys, condition assessments, defect diagnosis, project specification and contract administration. Acting as a trusted adviser to clients, the Chartered Building Surveyor will ensure work is delivered to the highest professional standards and in line with relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building Surveys & Inspections: Carry out building surveys, condition surveys and inspections across a range of properties, producing clear and accurate reports.
- Defect Diagnosis: Investigate and diagnose building defects, providing practical recommendations and remedial solutions.
- Specification & Design: Prepare detailed specifications, schedules of work and design information for repair, refurbishment and maintenance projects.
- Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, including procurement, tendering, valuations, inspections and project close-out.
- Project Management: Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard.
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert professional advice and a high level of service.
- Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all work complies with relevant building regulations, statutory requirements, professional standards and health and safety legislation.
- Technical Advice: Provide expert technical guidance to clients and colleagues on building-related matters, including feasibility and risk.
- Reporting: Produce professional reports, valuations and documentation to a high standard, ensuring accuracy and clarity throughout.
- Continuous Professional Development: Maintain chartered status and keep up to date with changes in legislation, regulations and industry best practice.
Person Specification:
- Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS or FRICS).
- A relevant degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- Proven post-qualification experience in a building surveying role.
- Strong technical knowledge of building construction, defects, regulations and contract administration.
- Excellent report-writing, communication and client-management skills.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage a varied caseload and competing deadlines.
- A full UK driving licence.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Oxfordshire, with regular travel to sites and client premises as required. Working hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional out-of-hours work may be required to meet business needs.
Pay: £85,000.00 per year
