Scale WY04 £26,403 - £28,142 / £13.69 - £14.59 per hour (Pro rata: £18,916.63 - £20,160.23) (pay award pending)

This is a rare opportunity to join our small, dedicated team of calibration technicians who work in our UKAS accredited calibration laboratories.
Working alongside Trading Standards Professionals the role is ideally suited for someone who has experience in a technical, calibration or compliance environment but at the same time offers the opportunity to use your numeracy skills whilst performing a variety of hands-on practical work.
West Yorkshire Calibration Service provides a calibration, testing and verification service across a wide range of weighing and measuring equipment to a varied client base. Much of our work is governed by Weights and Measure legislation and as such we require our technicians to be accurate and work to prescribed procedures and quality standards.
The successful candidate will be working in a commercial environment whilst enjoying the many benefits of being part of a local authority organisation. We expect you to have a customer focussed approach to service delivery, able to meet deadlines and be flexible in your approach.
Although full training will be provided, we are ideally looking for someone who has experience or appropriate qualifications and skills suited to a metrology, technical or mechanical role and has good numeracy, analytical and computer skills. You will be working as part of a small team but rely on your own initiative and be responsible for your own workload. Applicants should note that the post requires manual handling of heavy weights up to 20kg in weight, therefore candidates must have a level of fitness in order to undertake the role.
