£27,000.00 - £32,000.00 per year
Job description
If you're someone who enjoys supporting children throughout their early years journey and helping them feel safe, confident and ready to learn, this role could be the perfect fit.
We are looking for an experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team, supporting children aged 0–5 years in a nursery known locally for its warm culture and strong reputation.
Every day brings something different. You'll help create a nurturing, stimulating environment where children can learn through play, build relationships and develop at their own pace. Whether you're comforting a young child, encouraging language development, supporting independence or preparing preschoolers for school, you'll play an important role in every stage of their early years.
This is a nursery where care comes first. Every child is treated as an individual, with their emotional wellbeing, development and happiness at the heart of everything we do.
What your day might look like
Your day could include:
- Welcoming children and supporting smooth arrivals.
- Planning and delivering engaging play-based learning experiences.
- Supporting children's personal care, meals and daily routines.
- Encouraging language, communication and social development.
- Leading creative, sensory and outdoor learning activities.
- Spending time in the nursery's forest area, giving children opportunities to explore and learn through nature.
- Building strong relationships with parents and carers.
- Observing, assessing and supporting each child's individual development in line with the EYFS.
Technology is used thoughtfully across the nursery to reduce paperwork and allow practitioners to spend more quality time with the children.
The environment
The nursery is family-run and values-led, with a strong local reputation for creating a nurturing, supportive environment for both children and staff.
Learning is child-led, encouraging curiosity, confidence and independence through play. Children benefit from outdoor learning, yoga, sound baths and sensory exploration, creating a calm and engaging environment where every child can thrive.
What we're looking for
- Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
- At least 2 years' recent experience working with children aged 0–5 years (preferred).
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- A nurturing, patient and enthusiastic approach.
- Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Strong understanding of safeguarding.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
Additional training such as Paediatric First Aid, SEND, Makaton or Forest School would be beneficial but is not essential.
What you'll receive
- Salary £27,200 – £32,000 depending on qualification and experience.
- Paid Christmas shutdown.
- Your birthday off.
- 28 days holiday and bank holidays.
- Weekly staff yoga and wellbeing initiatives.
- Seasonal socials and team events.
- Death in service cover.
- On-site parking.
- Pension scheme.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
- Company Pension
This role would suit an Early Years Practitioner who enjoys working across the 0–5 age range and wants to be part of a nursery where high-quality care, child-led learning and staff wellbeing are genuinely valued.
If you're passionate about giving children the very best start in life, we'd love to hear from you.
