We're looking for an experienced, passionate, and hands-on Cafe Manager to lead our Flightline Cafe. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who lives and breathes hospitality, takes pride in delivering exceptional customer experiences, and has the leadership skills to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
This role goes beyond front of house. We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of kitchen and back of house operations who can confidently support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring seamless collaboration between front and back of house while maintaining outstanding food quality, consistency and compliance.
Based within one of the UK's most unique visitor attractions, you'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional cafe experience, with an opportunity to support with events, while also helping deliver a varied programme of corporate, private and public events including Lego fairs, model railway exhibitions, car shows and cinema under Concorde.
This role is primarily based on daytime working hours, with occasional evening support required for events and special functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the Flightline Cafe, ensuring smooth, efficient service at all times
- Deliver an outstanding hospitality experience, creating a welcoming environment for every customer
- Lead, inspire and motivate the cafe team, fostering a positive culture built around teamwork, accountability and high standards
- Recruit, train, coach and develop team members to help them reach their full potential
- Support the management of kitchen and back of house operations, ensuring excellent communication, food quality and service standards across the business
- Work closely with the kitchen team to manage service, staffing and operational efficiency
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and customer service throughout the cafe
- Manage stock control, ordering, waste and cost management to maximise profitability
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety and allergen legislation
- Support the planning and delivery of corporate, private and public events across the site
- Work collaboratively with the wider Fosters team to continuously improve standards, drive innovation and deliver memorable visitor experiences
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a management role within a cafe, restaurant or hospitality environment
- A strong understanding of kitchen and back of house operations, with the ability to support and oversee service beyond the front of house
- A passionate hospitality professional who leads by example and enjoys being part of the operation
- An inspiring people manager who motivates teams to consistently deliver their best
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing stock, labour and operating costs
- Sound knowledge of food safety, allergens and health & safety compliance
- Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays and occasional evenings as required
