Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient and smooth food production processes
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Oversee food safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
- Develop new menu ideas, ensuring variety and creativity to meet customer preferences
- Train and mentor junior team members to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of dishes and customer satisfaction
- Maintain organised workstations and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with team management capabilities
- Strong background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and management
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant roles is highly desirable
