Group Legal Counsel
Salary: £40,000–£45,000
Location: Midlands – Hybrid
Employment: Full-time, permanent
Probation: Six months
The Role
OG Holdings is building a diversified group across industrial gases, consumer electronics, manufacturing and business services in the UK and Nigeria.
We are looking for our first in-house lawyer to support the group’s day-to-day legal needs, manage legal risk and assist with acquisitions.
You will work directly with the CEO and receive some support from experienced external M&A counsel. The role offers significant responsibility and the opportunity to grow into Head of Legal as the group expands.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft and negotiate customer, supplier, distribution, manufacturing, service and partnership agreements.
* Provide practical legal advice across the group’s businesses.
* Maintain corporate records, board approvals and regulatory deadlines.
* Support compliance across data protection, consumer law, intellectual property, employment and HSE.
* Manage disputes, claims, contract renewals and legal risks.
* Coordinate data rooms, due diligence, advisers and documentation during acquisitions.
* Support transaction completion and post-acquisition integration.
* Manage external solicitors and control legal expenditure.
* Develop contract templates, policies, approval processes and acquisition playbooks.
About You
* Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a current practising certificate.
* NQ–3 years’ PQE, with capability prioritised over PQE.
* Strong corporate and commercial-law experience.
* Some meaningful experience supporting private-company acquisitions.
* Confident drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
* Commercially minded, organised and able to explain legal risks clearly.
* Comfortable working independently while knowing when specialist advice is required.
Experience in-house or within industrial, energy, manufacturing, distribution or e-commerce businesses would be beneficial.
