You will be working in the Building Services OU based in St Bartholomew's Hospital in where we are responsible for supporting hospitals nationwide, ensuring clean, well-ventilated, and heated spaces that aid patient recovery. We help cut energy use, carbon emissions, and waste costs, drawing on global best practice from over 400 healthcare projects.
We are currently looking for a Safe Systems of Work Manager who will ensure both the Capital Works and Operational tasks are completed, by ensuring teams are put to work in line with Skanska’s process & procedure. Reviewing Health & Safety RAMS, ensuring Safe Starts are in place, and that Sub-Contractors have done their Dynamic Risk Assessments.
As the Safe Systems of Work Manager, you will:

Lead the H&S Safe System of Works across all activities.

Managing H&S site plans in accordance with statutory and mandatory requirements. Be responsible for the collation of H&S information, reporting and data associated with the self-governed services.

Manage and monitor site access protocols as part of works planning and for general site access for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.

Provide the first response investigation and escalation for all H&S incidents (e.g. accidents, near misses, technical).

Prepare and govern method statements associated with all works and for Skanska and subcontracted works.

Provide guidance to the teams on the identification of hazards and the process and PPE necessary to mitigate risk.

Prepare and govern the preparation of Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS) review and ‘putting’ people to work.
We are looking for:

Experience working in a Facilities. Management/Building Services environment.

Able to demonstrate experience in supervising subcontractors.

Project Management skills.
-
Minimum Health & Safety qualifications - IOSH Managing Safety.

Experience in process management.
-
Experience of managing SSOW Permit Systems.
