Experienced Staircase Maker & Installer / Bespoke Joiner

Woodcraft Joinery London is looking for an experienced Staircase Maker & Installer / Bespoke Joiner to join our team.
We are looking for someone with strong experience in the manufacture and installation of bespoke timber staircases, who can work confidently both in the workshop and on site.
Main Responsibilities
- Manufacture bespoke timber staircases from drawings and site measurements
- Install complete staircases on site
- Staircase refurbishment and alteration works
- Manufacture and install handrails, base rails, newel posts and newel caps
- Install timber and metal spindles
- Install glass balustrades
- Work with hardwoods including Oak, Sapele, Walnut and other timbers
- Accurately measure, cut, shape, assemble and finish staircase components
- Carry out adjustments and problem-solving on site
- Ensure installations are completed to a high standard with excellent attention to detail
- Work independently as well as part of our workshop and installation team
Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- Proven experience specifically in staircase manufacturing and installation
- Strong traditional joinery and carpentry skills
- Experience working with hardwood
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Good understanding of staircase construction and components
- Excellent attention to detail and finishing standards
- Confidence carrying out bespoke and complicated installations
- Ability to take accurate measurements and solve problems on site
- Own hand tools preferred
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Reliable, professional and punctual approach to work
This position is specifically for an experienced staircase specialist. Previous staircase manufacturing and installation experience is essential.
We work on a wide range of bespoke staircase projects across London, from traditional timber staircases to contemporary oak, glass and metal balustrade designs.
