We are seeking to appoint a School Business Manager 1 at our school to start on 1st September 2026 and to include a few hand-over days during the school summer holiday. This is following the planned retirement of our long-standing bursar who has been involved with the school for over 26 years.
This is a Grade 8 role and the successful candidate will be working 37 hour per week with flexible start and finish times, term time plus 2 additional weeks (negotiable) during school holidays - days to be agreed with Senior Leaders. We are a school of over 243 pupils covering the age range of 4-11 and have a pre-school on site overseen by the governing board (section 47 provision). Our Pre-school and Out of School Care generates considerable income, which results in the school having a healthy budget which we enjoy putting to use in creative ways.
This role is well established within the school and routines and procedures are all in place but available for review by the successful candidate. The School Business Manager will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to manage the day to day running of the school, all aspects of health and safety, HR and financial planning and the communication systems within school and with other agencies. The schools Enquiries and Admissions Secretary (4 days per week) is line managed by the School Business Manager as is the school Site Supervisor.
