About Cobalt
Cobalt Business IT & Comms is an Exeter-based technology partner that has been looking after businesses across Devon and the South West since 2001. We bring cloud telephony, IT support, cyber security and connectivity together under one roof — one team for your IT.
Everything we sell, we support: our solutions are designed, installed and looked after by the same Exeter team, from our office at Spitfire House near Exeter Airport. We're a National Comms Award winner, Cyber Essentials certified and carbon neutral, and we're proud that many of our clients have been with us since the very beginning.
We're a friendly, down-to-earth team who take pride in doing what we say. If you'd like to be part of a company where you'll see the direct impact of your work on real customers, we'd love to hear from you. #WEARECOBALT
About the role
Are you organised, people-focused and curious about technology? We're looking for a Project Coordinator to join our service delivery team at Cobalt.
You'll help plan, coordinate and drive the delivery of IT and telecoms projects from start to finish — acting as the central link between our customers, engineers, suppliers and internal teams, and keeping everyone informed, aligned and moving forward.
This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on keeping things on track, enjoys working with people, and wants to build a career in IT project delivery. We welcome applications from candidates aged 18 and over — hands-on experience and the right attitude matter more to us than formal qualifications.
What you'll be working on
You'll manage a varied portfolio of projects, including:
- Telephony and connectivity installations
- New client onboarding
- Microsoft 365 and cloud migrations
- Network and infrastructure deployments
What you'll be doing
Project delivery and coordination
- Coordinating IT and telecoms projects end-to-end, including new internet lines, phone system installs and onboarding of new managed service clients
- Maintaining project plans, schedules, documentation and status reports to keep delivery on track
- Scheduling engineers and resources, and coordinating site visits, installations and remote delivery activities
- Proactively identifying and escalating risks, blockers and dependencies
Customer and supplier coordination
- Acting as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle, providing clear and timely updates
- Coordinating with suppliers and partners to arrange installations, deliveries and technical support
- Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders
Support and continuous improvement
- Supporting the team with administrative tasks, reporting and process documentation
- Contributing ideas to improve our project processes, tools and customer outcomes
What we're looking for
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise across multiple projects
- A clear communicator who can liaise confidently with customers, engineers and suppliers
- Able to juggle competing priorities without losing attention to detail
- Methodical and solution-focused, with the initiative to resolve problems proactively
- Comfortable working at pace in a dynamic, service-driven environment
- A customer-first mindset, with genuine empathy and a commitment to delivering an excellent experience
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/5 or above, plus solid IT literacy
Previous experience in IT, telecoms, project coordination or a service desk environment would be an advantage, but it isn't essential — we value relevant hands-on experience and the right attitude over formal qualifications.
Who you are
- A collaborative, warm and approachable team player
- Resilient and adaptable — positive and focused when priorities shift
- Self-motivated and reliable, managing your own workload while supporting the wider team
- Genuinely curious about technology, with a drive to keep learning
What we offer
- Flexible working from our Exeter office
- Full training and support to develop your project delivery skills
- The chance to work with a wide range of technologies and clients
- Company Pension
- 21 days annual leave
- Birthday bonus day off
