Salary: £500–£510 per week (term time only)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
About the role
Step Into Teaching is recruiting a strong-willed, resilient graduate to work 1:1 with a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school in Andover. This is a rewarding but demanding role, ideal for someone confident, patient, and able to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations.
You’ll provide tailored support to help a pupil engage with learning, regulate emotions, and succeed within the school environment.
Key responsibilities
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN
- Supporting learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation
- Implementing strategies set by the SENCO and teaching staff
- Encouraging positive routines, boundaries, and independence
- Recording progress and contributing to review meetings
- Acting as a consistent, trusted adult throughout the school day
About you
- A graduate (any discipline considered)
- Strong-willed, resilient, and confident in your approach
- Calm under pressure with excellent emotional awareness
- Passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
- Interest in SEN, psychology, education, or pastoral support
- Previous experience with children or SEN is desirable but not essential
