Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Plasterer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying plaster and other finishing materials to interior and exterior surfaces, transforming spaces with precision and craftsmanship. Your expertise will contribute to creating smooth, durable finishes on walls, ceilings, and other structures, ensuring high-quality results that meet project specifications. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal plaster adhesion
- Mix plaster materials accurately according to project requirements and safety standards
- Apply plaster using hand tools such as trowels, hawks, and floats to achieve smooth finishes on walls and ceilings
- Utilize power tools like mixers and drills to facilitate efficient material preparation and application
- Execute bricklaying and masonry tasks when required for structural or decorative purposes
- Install insulation, lath, or backing materials as needed before plaster application
- Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, welders, and other tradespeople to coordinate work sequences effectively
- Follow safety protocols diligently when operating equipment like scaffolding or roofing tools
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality control, making necessary touch-ups or corrections
Experience
- Proven experience as a plasterer or in related masonry roles demonstrating proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of bricklaying, masonry techniques, and surface preparation processes
- Familiarity with carpentry skills relevant to finishing work and structural support
- Experience working on roofing projects or with roofing materials is a plus
- Ability to operate welding equipment safely when required for specific applications
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to construction sites and tool operation
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality finishes in a timely manner
