About Marshall Bespoke
Marshall Bespoke is a growing bespoke carpentry and furniture business specialising in high-quality, made-to-measure kitchens and furniture.
We work on a range of projects, from bespoke kitchens, wardrobes and utility rooms to media walls, studies, boot rooms and other individually designed pieces. Our work is manufactured to a high standard in our workshop before being finished and installed in customers’ homes.
We are looking for an experienced Joiner to join our team and become an important part of the continued growth of the business.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role that will involve working across different stages of our projects. No two days will necessarily be the same.
Depending on the project and your experience, your responsibilities may include:
- Manufacturing bespoke furniture, cabinetry and fitted furniture in the workshop.
- Working from drawings and measurements to produce accurate, high-quality components using workshop machinery and hand tools safely and confidently.
- Preparing components for finishing and assisting with spraying and other finishing processes.
- Learning and developing skills in spray finishing where required.
- Installing bespoke furniture and cabinetry in customers’ homes. Including carrying out final adjustments, finishing and snagging to ensure a high-quality installation.
About You
You may not have experience in every part of the role, and that’s okay. What’s important to us is that you have solid joinery skills, take pride in your work, are willing to learn and aren’t afraid to get stuck in.
You will sometimes work alongside the owner and at other times be trusted to work independently. Self-motivation, initiative and reliability are therefore essential.
You will ideally be someone who:
- Has a strong eye for detail and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
- Is proactive and able to use their own initiative rather than needing direction.
- Is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of a project.
- Is adaptable and willing to get involved in different areas of the business.
- Is keen to learn new skills and develop their existing abilities.
- Has a positive attitude and is willing to get stuck in.
- Is trustworthy and dependable.
- Can work neatly and respectfully in customers’ homes.
Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Proven experience as a joiner.
- Good practical woodworking and joinery skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Good understanding of workshop and site health and safety.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable, but not essential:
- Experience manufacturing bespoke furniture or cabinetry.
- Workshop-based joinery experience.
- Experience with spray finishing.
What We Offer
- A varied role within a growing bespoke business.
- The opportunity to work on high-quality, interesting and individual projects.
- The opportunity to develop skills across workshop manufacture, finishing and installation.
- Training and support to learn new skills, including spray finishing.
- A friendly, hands-on working environment.
- The chance to grow with the business and develop your role over time.
