Patmore Water Softeners have been the UK’s number one, award winning, independent water softener company for many years. We sell and install water softeners primarily for home use within 45-55 miles radius of our main Ipswich head office.
A brief history about our company:
Starting 48 years ago back in 1978 as a general plumbing & heating company. In 1979 we installed our very first water softener, this was following a chance meeting at a local plumbers merchants based in Ipswich. This was to become the place where the seed was planted for the future success of our family business.
In November 1981 the decision was made to focus more on promoting the benefits of water softeners and softened water within Suffolk, North Essex, & Norfolk areas
Then operating from home and a very small industrial unit at Martlesham Heath, the decision was made in 1999 to look for larger premises.
In November 2000 we purchased the former Esso Petrol Station on Spring Road Ipswich. After its refurbishment it became our first office/showroom and later our head office.
In July 2010 we purchased our second showroom at 6 South Entrance, Saxmundham. Following an extensive 18 month refurbishment, we opened officially in February 2012.
In June 2018 the former mini supermarket on Coggeshall Road Braintree opened after 10 months refurbishment and become our third office & showroom
Finally in March 2023, we opened our 30,000ft salt distribution warehouse at Ransomes Industrial Estate Ipswich.

At Patmore water softeners we offer intensive training so you don’t need to be an expert in water softeners, you just need to love working with people, be able to demonstrate knowledge and plumbing experience, be technically minded and always be willing to go the extra mile to deliver for our customers.
As a Water Softener Installer, you must have a full UK driving licence, along with excellent customer service skills. You must have a plumbing qualification along with previous domestic plumbing experience.
Alongside a competitive salary, the successful candidate will receive:

Please note: This role offers the option for Saturday working at overtime rate but is not compulsory.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair water softeners and filtration systems according to company standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete installations.
- Conduct routine servicing of systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist customers with system operation and maintenance advice.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Adhere to safety protocols during all job activities.
- Collaborate with team members to meet installation schedules.
- Support the delivery of exceptional customer service at all times.
Qualifications:
- You must have a plumbing qualification along with previous domestic plumbing experience.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and installation techniques.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in confined spaces.
- Valid driving license preferred for commercial driving tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.
