At St Teresa's Hospice, our retail operation plays a vital role in raising funds to support specialist palliative and end of life care across our local communities. We are looking for a reliable, friendly and hardworking Hospice Driver to join our Retail Team.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll be collecting and delivering donated goods, supporting our charity shops and warehouse operations, meeting members of the public, and helping to ensure donations are handled safely and efficiently.

Location: St Teresa’s Hospice Retail Warehouse, Unit A, McMullen Road, Darlington, DL1 1XY
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – 5 out of 6 days Monday to Saturday on a rota basis.
St Teresa’s Hospice Band 1: £24,785 per annum.

What you'll be doing:
- Driving Hospice vans to collect and deliver donated goods and furniture.
- Supporting the movement of stock between our retail locations.
- Assisting with house clearances when required.
- Working within the warehouse, sorting and organising donated items.
- Working alongside colleagues and volunteers to provide an excellent service.
- Promoting Gift Aid opportunities to donors and supporters.
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any issues.
- Ensuring all collections and deliveries are completed safely, professionally and efficiently.
What we're looking for:
You'll be someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and is comfortable undertaking van driving and manual handling duties.
Essential requirements:
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Experience and confidence driving larger vehicles/vans.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience of working with the general public.
- Ability to safely lift and move furniture and donated goods with care.
- Organised, reliable and self-motivated.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
