Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team to support a young person in a residential setting.
This role will initially be based in Oldham for one week before moving to Stoke-on-Trent on an ongoing basis.
The Role
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child at all times.
- Building positive, professional relationships.
- Supporting with daily routines and encouraging independence.
- Planning and participating in meaningful activities both within the home and in the community.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care plans.
- Working collaboratively with the wider professional network.
Shift Pattern
- 2 waking nights
- 1 sleep-in shift
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a residential childcare setting is essential.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- A caring, resilient and reliable approach.
- Ability to engage positively with children and young people who may have experienced trauma.
- A current HOLD (or equivalent physical intervention) qualification would be a distinct advantage.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
