Data Analyst Job Description
A Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data to help businesses make informed decisions. They work with large datasets, identify trends, create reports, and provide actionable insights to improve business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources
- Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Excel, Power BI, or Tableau
- Prepare weekly/monthly performance reports for stakeholders
- Work closely with business teams to understand reporting requirements
- Perform SQL queries to extract and manipulate data
- Monitor KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity
- Support business decision-making through data-driven insights
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or Tableau
- Basic understanding of Python or R for data analysis
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of statistics and data interpretation
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field Master preferred
- Internship or prior experience in data analysis is preferred
- Familiarity with databases and reporting tools
