Experienced Gardener

About the Role
We are looking for an Experienced Gardener to join our Landscape team, maintaining and developing a portfolio of high-end private gardens across Central London.
You will work as part of a small, dedicated team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day care and maintenance of gardens to a consistently high standard. The role would suit someone with a strong practical horticultural background, a genuine passion for plants and gardens, and several years of hands-on experience.
Alongside regular garden maintenance, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our construction team, assisting with soil preparation and planting on new landscape projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular maintenance of high-end private gardens to a consistently high standard.
- Plant, prune and care for a wide range of plants, shrubs and trees.
- Carry out mowing, weeding, feeding, mulching and general seasonal maintenance.
- Monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases and other issues at an early stage.
- Operate and maintain irrigation systems, including identifying and reporting faults.
- Safely use a range of hand tools and power tools.
- Carry out seasonal planting and garden preparation.
- Maintain gardens and outdoor areas in a clean, tidy and presentable condition.
- Assist with soil preparation and planting as part of new landscape construction projects.
- Work alongside the construction team when required to help deliver new garden projects.
- Support the wider Landscape team with general horticultural and maintenance tasks.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Several years of practical experience in gardening or horticulture.
- Strong knowledge of plants, plant care and general horticultural practices.
- Good working knowledge of irrigation systems and irrigation maintenance.
- Confident and competent using common gardening hand tools and power tools.
- Good understanding of pruning, planting, feeding, soil preparation and seasonal garden maintenance.
- Ability to identify common plant pests, diseases and health issues.
- High level of attention to detail, with pride in maintaining gardens to a high standard.
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently as well as as part of a small team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive a company vehicle is essential.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys creating and maintaining beautiful gardens. A positive attitude, good work ethic and willingness to get involved across different aspects of horticulture and landscape construction are essential.
Experience working in high-end residential gardens or with a landscape design/construction company would be advantageous.
Part-time applicants will also be considered for the right candidate.
