Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various machinery utilised in fabrication and assembly processes. Responsibilities
- Operate a range of manufacturing machinery, including CNC machines, milling equipment, and other fabrication tools.
- Set up machines according to specifications, ensuring correct tooling and calibration.
- Monitor machine operation during production runs, adjusting parameters as necessary for optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using hand tools and technical knowledge to minimise downtime.
- Handle materials safely, including loading raw materials and managing finished products within the workspace.
- Read technical drawings and CAD files to assist with fabrication tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities and machine performance.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, recognising potential hazards around machinery.
Skills
- Proficiency in fabrication techniques, including welding and assembly.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
- Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programmes for design review.
- Skilled in milling operations and understanding of tooling requirements.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Competence in using hand tools and materials handling equipment safely.
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with materials logistics is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
