Who is Nitra: We are a fast-growing sheet metal shop in Poole specializing in custom parts and quick-turnaround one-offs. Right now, I’m running the entire show completely alone. I need a reliable, hardworking person to take ownership of our 3kW Fibre Laser cutter so I can focus on folding, surface finishing, fabrication, and admin.
The Role: You do not need to be a master laser programmer or have years of laser experience to apply for this job. If you have a basic technical background operating any type of CNC machine (whether it’s a milling machine, router, plasma cutter, or lathe), I want to hear from you.
I am looking for a genuine, reliable person who knows how to handle basic tools and measurements, understands technical drawings, and wants to step up their skills. I will personally train you 1-on-1 on our specific fibre laser and nesting software. The ultimate goal is to train you up so you can confidently run the entire laser department as a stable, standalone role.
Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload sheet metal sheets using our suction crane.
- Import DXF/CAD files and learn to nest efficiently to minimize waste.
- Set up, operate, and maintain the CNC fibre laser.
- Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy before they move to folding.
- Keep the laser area organized and tidy.
What We Offer:
- Stable Pay & Progression: Starting at £15.00 to £17.00/hour (depending on what you already know), with guaranteed hours and regular pay reviews as your nesting skills and speed improve.
- On-the-Job Training: Direct, 1-on-1 mentoring from the owner on laser cutting technology, materials and nesting optimization.
- Total Time Flexibility: We focus on output, not the clock. Want to start early at 6:00 AM to beat the traffic and finish at 2:30 PM? As long as production deadlines are met, you can choose your own hours (available after your initial training).
- 28 Days Paid Holiday: Full statutory annual leave entitlement, including bank holidays.
- Great Working Environment: No corporate nonsense, no micromanagement, a relaxed vibe, and the ability to listen to your own music/podcasts while you work.
How to Apply: If you are dedicated, reliable hardworker looking for a stable job where you can grow over the next few years, hit apply and attach your CV.
Please include a quick note telling us what CNC machines, tools, or CAD/nesting software you have experience with.
Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Employee discount
- On-site parking
