Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV CE Tramper Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with containers, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. As a HGV Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery.
Duties
- Operate in safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections (Walk around checks) of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
- Communicate effectively with planners regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, compliance, and customer service.
What is on offer
- Full time employment
- Contracted to a minimum of 35 hours per week (Although usually much higher)
- £15.00 per hour plus a £1 per hour bonus for being punctual, getting on with the job & keeping the vehicle clean, tidy & damage free
- Weekend work sometimes available, £17 per hour for Saturdays, £19 per hour for Sundays - Both plus a £1 per hour bonus for being punctual, getting on with the job & keeping the vehicle clean, tidy & damage free
- £26.20 per night out tax free
- PAYE, Paid weekly one week in hand (Bonus paid at the end of each month)
- 28 Days annual holiday - including bank holidays, Holiday pay based on average earnings over the previous 8 weeks.
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence with the CE driving entitlement.
- Minimum of 2 years recent driving experience.
- Maximum of 3 points on your licence.
- Proven experience as container driver.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in driving.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
