About the Role
As a Mobile Hydraulic Hose Technician, you will be responsible for attending customer sites to diagnose hydraulic faults, manufacture and replace hydraulic hoses, carry out repairs, and return machinery to service as quickly and safely as possible.
You will be working independently from a fully equipped company service vehicle, responding to both scheduled work and emergency call-outs across your designated area.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend customer sites to diagnose hydraulic hose failures and associated hydraulic system faults.
- Manufacture hydraulic hoses to specification using mobile hose assembly equipment.
- Remove and replace damaged hydraulic hoses, fittings, couplings and associated components.
- Carry out emergency breakdown repairs on plant, agricultural, construction, industrial and commercial machinery.
- Inspect hydraulic systems for leaks, wear and potential failures.
- Advise customers on preventative maintenance and identify components that may require replacement.
- Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Complete service reports, job sheets and relevant paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Maintain stock levels within your service vehicle and ensure commonly used parts are replenished.
- Keep your company vehicle clean, organised and fully operational.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices.
- Build strong relationships with customers through professional, friendly and knowledgeable service.
- Liaise with the operations team regarding job updates, parts requirements and scheduling.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and work flexibly when required.
- Represent Atom On Site professionally at all times.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a hydraulic fitter, plant fitter, agricultural engineer, HGV technician or similar mechanical role.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and components.
- Experience diagnosing hydraulic faults and carrying out repairs independently.
- Ability to manufacture hydraulic hose assemblies.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond for customers.
Desirable
- Experience working on construction, agricultural or heavy plant machinery.
- Mechanical or engineering qualifications.
- Knowledge of hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves and motors.
- Experience working in a mobile field service environment.
- Forklift, telehandler or plant maintenance experience.
