Job Overview
I am recruiting a general farm worker to work with our free range laying hens near Market Weighton, East Yorkshire.
Working with one other or at times alone, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and welfare of the birds. This includes checking water and feed intakes, the operation and maintenance of equipment and buildings, packing of eggs ready for collection from our store and site maintenance.
Also depending upon experience, the opportunity to learn and be trained on all aspects of Free Range Egg Production.
Hours 6:00am to 2:30pm but an element of flexibility is available.
Pay negotiable, extra hours will be available depending upon the daily needs. Ideally looking for a candidate to join the team on a permanent basis . The candidate will need to be reliable, conscientious and flexible with a genuine interest in high quality UK agriculture and livestock.
Qualifications
- Experience in animal care and handling beneficial
- Proficiency in building maintenance and equipment repair
- Mechanical knowledge and ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks
