Job Summary
A Domiciliary Care Worker provides high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life. The role involves assisting service users with personal care, daily living activities, medication support, and companionship while promoting wellbeing and safeguarding their welfare.
Key ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care
- Assist clients with bathing, washing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Support clients with toileting and continence care.
- Help with mobility, transferring, and safe moving and handling procedures.
Daily Living Support
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring adequate nutrition and hydration.
- Support with household tasks such as light cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
- Accompany clients to appointments and social activities where required.
Medication Support
- Assist clients with medication in accordance with company policies and training.
- Record medication administration and report any concerns.
Emotional and Social Support
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and loneliness.
- Encourage clients to maintain social contacts and participate in community activities.
- Promote independence by enabling clients to perform tasks they are capable of completing themselves.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Observe and report any changes in clients' physical, emotional, or mental wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records.
- Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare professionals, and the care management team.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Follow safeguarding procedures to protect vulnerable adults.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies.
- Comply with health and safety regulations, confidentiality requirements, and care standards.
- Participate in training, supervision, and professional development activities.

- Previous experience in domiciliary care, residential care, healthcare, or support work.
- Training in moving and handling, first aid, medication administration, and safeguarding.
