Are you an experienced Medical Receptionist looking for a rewarding role in a friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking GP practice? We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional, and patient-focused Medical Receptionist – Care Navigator to join our dedicated team.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, supporting patient access to healthcare services, and helping ensure patients are directed to the most appropriate clinician or service.
Duties
- Greeting patients or visitors, providing a friendly and professional welcoming reception service
- Managing telephone and face-to-face and online patient enquiries
- Care navigating patients to the most appropriate service or clinician
- Booking, amending and cancelling appointments
- Processing administrative tasks accurately and efficiently
- Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately
- Supporting the wider practice team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with data protection regulations
- Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork and forms
- Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and external organisations as needed
- Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary materials
Qualifications
- Proven office experience, preferably within a healthcare setting or similar environment
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and organisational ability
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
- Proficiency in using office software programmes such as Microsoft Office or equivalent systems
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in patient care
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
