Interim Registered Manager – Domiciliary Care

Help Build a New Care Service
We are seeking an experienced Interim Registered Manager to play a key role in launching our new domiciliary care service for adults across Derby and the surrounding areas.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the provider from the very beginning, leading the CQC registration process, establishing strong operational foundations, and helping create a high-quality service that delivers safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
Initially offered as a flexible consultancy position, this role has the potential to develop into a permanent Registered Manager opportunity once the service is fully established.
About the Role
As Interim Registered Manager, you will:
- Act as the proposed Registered Manager throughout the CQC registration process.
- Lead and support the completion of the CQC application and registration requirements.
- Prepare for and attend the CQC Fit Person Interview.
- Provide strategic leadership and operational guidance during the startup phase.
- Support the implementation of policies, procedures, governance systems and quality assurance processes.
- Ensure the service is fully compliant with CQC regulations and best practice.
- Mentor and support the provider while the business becomes operational.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and preparation for accepting the first service users.
- Drive a positive culture focused on dignity, compassion, safety and continuous improvement.
- Provide ongoing oversight until the permanent management structure is in place.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager within domiciliary care.
- An excellent understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations.
- Strong knowledge of the CQC Single Assessment Framework.
- A proven track record of achieving and maintaining CQC compliance.
- Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Experience supporting or developing new care services is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding care and mentoring others.
- The flexibility to work on a consultancy basis during the registration and launch period.
