As the Fostering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality fostering services while ensuring full compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. This role provides the opportunity to lead strategic initiatives, drive service improvements, and contribute to the overall growth and success of our fostering service. Your expertise in administrative tasks, programme management, and relationship management will be essential in providing support and guidance to both the children and their foster families.
We are seeking a compassionate and results-driven leader
Current registration with a Social Work regulatory council (e.g., Social Work England, Social Care Wales, NISCC, SSSC).
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the fostering service in line with Ofsted regulations, Fostering Services Regulations, and National Minimum Standards.
- Ensure high-quality, safe, and supportive placements that promote the well-being and development of children and young people.
- Act as the Registered Manager, overseeing compliance, safeguarding, and service delivery standards.
- Supervise and support staff, promoting a culture of accountability, development, and care excellence.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and support of foster carers to maintain a robust and skilled carer network.
- Monitor service performance through audits, feedback, and quality assurance processes.
- Work closely with local authorities, external agencies, and internal stakeholders to coordinate care and placements.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure sustainable, high-performing service delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience in administrative roles within social services or a related field.
- Strong programme management skills with the ability to manage small multiple cases simultaneously.
- Excellent relationship management abilities to effectively engage with children, families, and external agencies.
- Supervisory experience is preferred; ability to lead and mentor others is essential.
- Significant experience in fostering and children’s services, with a proven track record of meeting regulatory standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- A valid driving licence (preferred but not required) and willingness to travel when necessary.
Non-Essential
- Previous management experience is not essential as training will be provided.
