We work with employers and partners across Greater Manchester to help learners develop the skills, confidence and experience they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships and further learning.
The Role
You'll play a key role in helping learners progress into employment, apprenticeships, volunteering, further education, quality work placements and training by creating opportunities with employers and supporting learners to achieve positive destinations.
This is a target-driven role where success is measured by learner outcomes. Working with existing employer partners and developing new relationships, you'll identify live vacancies, generate recruitment opportunities and connect learners with employers before they complete their programmes.
Using networking, business development, referrals and cold calling, you'll encourage employers to recruit directly from Rochdale Training by arranging employer presentations, guest speakers, recruitment events, interview days and workplace visits.
Working alongside our Careers Advisor, Work Experience Coordinator and curriculum teams, you'll ensure every learner leaves Rochdale Training with a clear progression plan and access to meaningful opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing employers while generating new employer partnerships across Greater Manchester.
- Develop and maintain employer partnerships to secure high-quality work experience placements, matching learners to suitable opportunities, completing workplace health and safety checks, and monitoring placements to support positive learner outcomes.
- Generate employment opportunities by identifying live vacancies and promoting Rochdale Training learners through networking, referrals, business development and cold calling.
- Match learners to suitable employment, apprenticeship, volunteering and further learning opportunities.
- Coordinate employer engagement activities, including recruitment events, employer presentations, guest speakers, mock interviews and interview days.
- Encourage employers to visit Rochdale Training to meet learners and recruit directly from our programmes.
- Work alongside the Careers Advisor and curriculum teams to identify learners ready for progression and connect them with suitable opportunities.
- Build partnerships with Jobcentre Plus, DWP, Positive Steps, local authorities, colleges, universities, employers and community organisations.
- Monitor labour market trends and identify growth sectors and recruitment opportunities across Greater Manchester.
- Provide one-to-one progression support, helping learners prepare for applications, interviews and recruitment events.
- Provide aftercare support, track learner destinations and maintain accurate records to meet funding, quality and performance requirements. Including gaining evidence of job offer/employment.
- Promote safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the learner journey.

What You'll Need
Essential
- Experience supporting people into employment, education or training.
- Experience in employer engagement, recruitment, business development, sales or account management.
- Experience working towards performance targets or KPIs.
- Knowledge of the Greater Manchester labour market and local employment opportunities.
- Experience using CRM or learner management systems.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Desirable
- Careers Information, Advice and Guidance qualification (or willingness to work towards).
- Experience coordinating recruitment events or employer engagement activities.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role will be measured through your ability to:
- Increase the number of learners progressing into employment, apprenticeships, volunteering, further education and training.
- Develop new employer partnerships while strengthening relationships with existing employers.
- Generate live vacancies and progression opportunities through networking, business development, referrals and cold calling.
- Organise employer engagement activities, including recruitment events, employer talks, guest speakers and interview days.
- Achieve agreed monthly targets relating to learner progression, employer engagement and sustained positive destinations.
- Maintain accurate learner destination data and evidence to meet funding, quality, Matrix and Ofsted requirements.

- Basic salary of £27,000 per annum + commission
- 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays (Increasing to 38 after 5 years)
