Are you passionate about sport, PE and helping every child discover a love of physical activity?
We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, reliable and motivated Sports Coach / PE Teacher to join a welcoming school in Iver, Buckinghamshire.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to play a key role in developing sport across the school, delivering high-quality PE lessons and encouraging every pupil to get involved - not just those who are already sporty or confident.
The school is looking for someone who understands the KS2 PE curriculum and can bring energy, creativity and enthusiasm to lessons and extracurricular activities. Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to take ownership of the school's sporting provision, including helping to organise fixtures and competitions with other schools.
This role would suit an experienced Sports Coach, PE Teacher or sports professional with relevant experience working with primary aged children. QTS is not essential, although coaching or sports-related qualifications would be highly desirable.
As a Sports Coach / PE Teacher, you will:
-
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate PE lessons across KS2.
-
Deliver PE in line with the KS2 National Curriculum.
-
Provide a broad range of sports, games and physical activities.
-
Encourage participation from all pupils, regardless of their sporting ability or confidence.
-
Create an inclusive environment where every child feels encouraged to take part.
-
Help pupils develop physical skills, coordination, teamwork, resilience and confidence.
-
Identify opportunities to develop and improve the school's wider sports provision.
-
Run after-school sports clubs, with additional hours available as paid overtime.
-
Help organise and coordinate inter-school fixtures, competitions and sporting events.
-
Encourage pupils to represent the school in different sports and activities.
-
Adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities and individual needs.
-
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and other members of the school community.
-
Work closely with teachers and school leaders to ensure PE supports the wider curriculum.
-
Promote healthy lifestyles and the importance of regular physical activity.
-
Help create a positive sporting culture across the school.
The successful candidate will have:
-
Experience teaching or coaching primary-aged children, ideally across KS2.
-
A good understanding of the KS2 PE curriculum.
-
QTS is not required.
-
A recognised coaching, sports or PE qualification would be highly desirable.
-
A genuine passion for sport and physical education.
-
The ability to deliver a range of sports and physical activities.
-
A strong desire to get all children involved in sport, including pupils who may be less confident or less naturally sporty.
-
The ability to create engaging and inclusive PE sessions.
-
Confidence managing groups of children and maintaining a positive learning environment.
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
-
Good organisational skills, particularly around fixtures, competitions and extracurricular activities.
-
A proactive attitude and the enthusiasm to help develop sport across the school.
-
A patient, engaging and adaptable approach.
-
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
-
The ability to commute to or work within the Iver, Buckinghamshire area.
The role will be available for 4 or 5 days per week, depending on availability and agreement with the school.
-
Core school hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
-
After-school sports clubs: Additional hours available as paid overtime
The successful candidate will ideally be able to provide consistent support across the week and become an integral part of the school's PE and sporting provision.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Sports Coach or PE professional who wants more than simply delivering PE lessons.
You will have the opportunity to:
-
Help develop and shape sport across the school.
-
Encourage children of all abilities to participate in physical activity.
-
Deliver PE across KS2.
-
Run after-school sports clubs with the opportunity to earn paid overtime.

Work closely with a supportive school team.
-
Make a genuine difference to children's confidence, wellbeing and physical development.
-
Take on a role with the potential to develop as the school's sporting provision grows.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is enthusiastic, proactive and passionate about getting children involved in sport.
You don't need to be a qualified teacher to be considered for this role. The school is particularly interested in someone with strong sports knowledge, an understanding of the KS2 curriculum and the ability to engage children of all abilities.
Most importantly, they are looking for someone who believes that sport should be accessible and enjoyable for every child, not just pupils who are already talented or interested in sport.
