Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated 1st & 2nd Fix Carpenter to join our dynamic team, working on both commercial and domestic construction projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality building and renovation works, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for executing precise carpentry tasks during the initial and subsequent phases of construction, helping bring architectural visions to life with craftsmanship and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Perform first fix carpentry tasks including framing, stud walls, door and window openings, and structural supports for both commercial and domestic sites.
- Carry out second fix carpentry such as fitting doors, skirting boards, architraves, cabinetry, and fixtures with accuracy.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to cut, shape, assemble, and install timber and other materials.
- Assist in fabrication and assembly of bespoke joinery components as per project specifications.
- Support roofing activities by installing roof trusses, battens, or other structural elements when required.
- Conduct heavy lifting safely to move materials around the site while adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing, electrical, masonry, and construction painting teams to ensure seamless project progress.
Requirements
- Proven experience in both 1st & 2nd fix carpentry within commercial or domestic construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication, assembly techniques, joinery, roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers; power tools including drills and saws; and specialized equipment related to carpentry.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and building plans accurately.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces when necessary.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to safety protocols on-site.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or construction trades are preferred.

Pay: £40,000.00-£46,000.00 per year
