Overview
SGH Civils and Surfacing Ltd are seeking experienced Civils Groundworkers to join our construction team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in groundworks, with the ability to operate various tools and machinery safely and efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to large-scale civil engineering projects, ensuring high standards of safety and quality throughout all phases of work.
Duties
- Excavate and prepare sites for foundations, drainage, and other civil engineering works using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as excavators
- Lay foundations, kerbs, pavements, and other groundworks in accordance with project specifications
- Operate mechanical equipment including excavators and welding apparatus as required
- Install drainage systems and perform related tasks with precision and attention to detail
- Use hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and fixing materials
- Assist with setting out and levelling work to ensure compliance with design plans
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations
Skills
- Proven experience as a Civils Groundworker on similar projects
- Proficiency in operating excavators and other heavy machinery
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools for various construction activities
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow technical drawings and instructions accurately
