About the role
SGP Contracts Limited is seeking a professional, discreet and highly reliable Driver to provide dedicated transport for one of our Company Directors. You will be responsible for safe, punctual and comfortable travel to business meetings, sites, offices, airports and events across London and, on occasion, further afield.
This is a position of trust. You will be privy to confidential business discussions and will represent the company whenever you are with clients, suppliers or guests. We are looking for someone calm under pressure, immaculately presented, and genuinely dependable — the sort of person who is always ten minutes early and never needs chasing.
Key responsibilities
- Drive the Director safely and punctually to business appointments, sites, offices and events
- Plan journeys and routes in advance, allowing for traffic, roadworks, congestion charge and ULEZ zones
- Monitor the Director’s daily schedule and liaise with the office over changes, delays or additional journeys
- Meet and transport clients, colleagues and visitors, including airport and hotel transfers
- Maintain the vehicle in immaculate condition inside and out, arranging cleaning as required
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and keep the vehicle fuelled, taxed, insured, serviced and MOT’d, reporting any defects immediately
- Keep accurate records of all journeys, mileage and expenses, clearly distinguishing business from private travel
- Assist with luggage, documents, deliveries and occasional business errands
- Handle all information seen or overheard with complete confidentiality and discretion
- Drive courteously and defensively at all times, complying fully with road traffic law and company policy
Requirements — essential
- Full UK driving licence, Category B, held for a minimum of 5 years
- Clean licence, or no more than 3 penalty points
- Right to work in the UK
- Demonstrable experience as a professional, private, executive or chauffeur driver
- Excellent knowledge of London roads, routes and traffic patterns
- Smart, professional appearance and a courteous, well-spoken manner
- Absolute discretion and confidentiality
- Exceptional punctuality and reliability
- Flexibility to accommodate occasional early starts, late finishes and pre-arranged weekend work
- Confident use of a smartphone for navigation, scheduling and communication
- Two verifiable references, and willingness to undergo background and licence checks
Requirements — desirable
- Previous experience driving for a company director, executive or high-net-worth individual
- First aid certificate
- Experience of close protection or security-aware driving
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Familiarity with executive saloons and premium marques
What we offer
- Full-time, permanent position with a settled, predictable weekly routine
- Company vehicle and fuel card provided for the performance of your duties
- 28 days paid holiday per year, including bank holidays
- Workplace pension scheme
- Paid downtime between journeys
- A long-term role with a stable, established company
How to apply
Apply directly through Indeed with an up-to-date CV setting out your driving experience and current licence status. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview and will be asked to bring their driving licence, proof of right to work in the UK, and details of two referees. A practical driving assessment forms part of the selection process.
