Dental Practice Manager – Dual-Site Position

We are seeking an experienced, motivated and highly organised Dental Practice Manager to oversee the day-to-day management and development of our two-site dental practice.
The role will involve managing our established practice in Lancing, which has been operating for almost four years, alongside supporting the development and launch of our new squat practice in Storrington.
The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing the Storrington practice from the ground up, including supporting the practice through the CQC registration process, developing systems and processes, recruiting and managing staff, and ensuring both practices operate to the highest standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesCQC & Compliance
- Ensure both practices remain fully compliant with CQC regulations and relevant legislation.
- Lead the preparation and implementation of the new Storrington practice for CQC registration.
- Maintain and regularly review practice policies, procedures and protocols.
- Ensure all required documentation, records and compliance systems are maintained.
- Coordinate and monitor audits, risk assessments and compliance checks.
- Ensure compliance with GDC standards, infection prevention and control requirements, health and safety and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate action plans.
Staff & Team Management
- Manage and support the clinical and administrative teams across both practices.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training and staff development.
- Prepare and manage staff rotas across both sites.
- Manage annual leave, sickness absence and staffing requirements.
- Conduct staff meetings, appraisals and performance reviews.
- Promote a positive, professional and supportive team culture.
- Address staff performance, conduct and workplace issues appropriately.
Practice Operations
- Ensure both practices operate efficiently and effectively on a daily basis.
- Maintain an efficient workflow between reception, nursing, clinicians and other members of the team.
- Identify operational issues and implement solutions.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and resources are available at both sites.
- Support the successful opening and ongoing development of the Storrington practice.
- Monitor patient flow and ensure an excellent patient experience.
Stock & Supplies
- Manage stock levels across both practices.
- Monitor ordering, deliveries and stock usage.
- Maintain appropriate levels of dental, clinical and office supplies.
- Work with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
- Minimise wastage and unnecessary expenditure.
Patient Experience & Complaints
- Ensure patient satisfaction remains a key priority across both practices.
- Deal with patient concerns and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Investigate complaints and implement appropriate resolutions and improvements.
- Monitor patient feedback and identify opportunities to improve the patient journey.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service across all departments.
Policies, Audits & Risk Management
- Develop, implement and regularly review practice policies and procedures.
- Coordinate regular clinical and operational audits.
- Complete and maintain appropriate risk assessments.
- Ensure actions arising from audits, incidents and risk assessments are followed through.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure evidence is available for regulatory inspections.
New Storrington Practice Development
A key aspect of the role will be supporting the development and launch of the new Storrington practice.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the practice build and preparation for opening.
- Establishing operational systems and procedures.
- Recruiting and onboarding the new team.
- Developing rotas and staffing structures.
- Establishing stock and ordering systems.
- Implementing policies, audits and compliance systems.
- Preparing the practice for CQC registration and inspection.
- Ensuring the practice is fully operational and ready to provide a high-quality patient service from opening.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Dental Practice Manager
- Strong knowledge of CQC requirements and dental compliance.
- Experience managing a dental team and multiple operational areas.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Experience with staff management, rotas, recruitment and performance management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities across two sites.
- A strong understanding of patient care and customer service.
- Experience with practice audits, risk assessments and policy management.
Previous experience of opening a new dental practice or taking a practice through CQC registration would be highly advantageous.
