Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, and maintaining a positive working environment. This position requires a strong background in food production and preparation, along with excellent leadership and team management skills.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow
- Maintain food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with the team to develop new recipes
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste
- Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a kitchen environment
- Strong background in food production and preparation techniques
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate others
- Proficient cooking skills
- Solid culinary experience with knowledge of various cooking methods
- Understanding of hospitality principles and customer service
- Strong leadership qualities to effectively manage kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable
- Ability to serve dishes with attention to presentation and detail
