You will be the data engine behind our consultant planning operation, producing accurate monthly reports, tracking productivity, margins and utilisation across our consultant planning teams, and turning numbers into clear, actionable insight for the business.
Alongside strong analytical rigour, this role calls for genuine emotional intelligence: someone confident, outgoing and friendly who can build trusted relationships with consultants and managers and communicate findings with tact and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate, insightful monthly reports on consultant planning activity for senior management and other stakeholders.
- Review and analyse the productivity of consultant planning, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor and report on margins and consultant utilisation, working with planning and operations teams to keep performance on track.
- Maintain and continuously improve dashboards, trackers and reporting tools to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Translate complex data sets into clear, digestible insights and recommendations for non-technical audiences.
- Build strong, trusted working relationships with consultants and managers, using emotional intelligence to discuss performance data sensitively and constructively.
- Identify process improvements to planning workflows and support the wider team in embedding a data-driven culture.
- Support ad hoc analysis and reporting requests from across the business as required.
Experience
- Proven experience in a data, planning, resource or business analyst role, ideally within a professional services or consultancy environment.
- A track record of producing regular management information, reports or dashboards for a range of stakeholders.
- Experience analysing productivity, margin or utilisation data, or similar operational/financial metrics.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel; experience with reporting or BI tools (e.g. Power BI) is an advantage.
- Experience working closely with consultants, planners or client-facing teams is desirable.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confident, outgoing and friendly, with interpersonal skills to build rapport quickly across the business.
- High emotional intelligence, able to discuss performance and productivity data with sensitivity and diplomacy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present data-driven insights clearly to varied audiences.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage recurring reporting deadlines and ad hoc requests simultaneously.
- A proactive, curious mindset with a genuine interest in using data to drive business improvement.
- A collaborative team player who is equally comfortable working independently.
