Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Picking & Despatch Operative to join our busy warehouse team. This is a hands-on role involving order picking, packing, stock handling and preparing customer orders for despatch.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring orders are processed accurately, efficiently and to a high standard.
Main Responsbilities
- Accurately pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders within agreed service levels, ensuring a high standard of quality and minimal order errors.
- Prepare and ship ADR-classified dangerous goods in full compliance with current regulations, company procedures, and national and international transport requirements.
- Liaise effectively with customers, carriers, and internal departments to ensure orders are processed, fulfilled, and delivered within required timescales.
- Maintain compliance with all Health and Safety policies, procedures, and HSE regulations, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
- Process and manage Ministry of Defence (MOD) orders in accordance with Leidos procedures and MOD guidelines, ensuring all contractual and operational requirements are met.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation to support operational activities, regulatory compliance, and audit requirements.
- Monitor order progress and resolve any issues proactively to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and service performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the efficient operation of warehouse and distribution activities.
Essential Skills
- Has previous warehouse, picking or packing experience
- Has good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Is comfortable with manual handling duties.
- Has a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Is reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards.
